DHAKA: Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said if any influential politician or anyone of administration is involved in the illegal casino business, action will be taken after investigations.

He said this while briefing reporters on ongoing issues at the Secretariat on Thursday (September 19).

Responding to a question about receiving information about casinos at various places after the raid at the illegal casino of the Jubo League leader in Fakirerpool, the minister said that the casino was operated without permission. When the administration learned, the raid was conducted.

Responding to a question about Jubo League leader Khalid Mahmud Bhuiyan, owner of the illegal casino in Fakirerpool, the home minister said the matter was investigating whether the influential politicians were involved. 

Action will be taken against those. If anyone in the administration has assisted on this business, action will be taken after the investigation, he added.

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested 142 persons from a casino at Fakirapool in Dhaka on Wednesday (September 18).

A mobile court of the elite force led by executive magistrate Sarwoer Alam conducted the drive at Fakirerpool Youngmen's Club around 5:30pm and detained them.
