GAZIPUR: Two young men were killed after a bus rammed into their motorbike on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway in Gazipur's Mawna intersection area on Monday (September 16) night.

The dead are identified as Lutfar Rahman, 28, son of Yunus Ali of Gopinathpur area of Madhobpur upazila in Habiganj, and Nazmus Shakib, 35, son of late Mostafizur Rahman, of Pikepara Krishnapur of Kurigram.

Manjurul Islam, Sub Inspector of Sreepur Police Station, said a Dhaka-bound bus from Mymensingh hit the motorbike last night, leaving Shakib dead on the spot and Lutfor severely injured.

Later, Lutfor was taken to Sreepur Health Complex where doctors declared him dead, the SI added.

The bus was seized but its driver and helper managed to flee the spot, the police official added.
