MAGURA:  A newly married couple committed suicide at their house by hanging themselves from ceiling beam with a sari at Ragobdair village in sadar upazila on Tuesday (August 20) night.

The deceased were identified as Norab Biswas, 20, and his wife Sraboni Biswas, 18.

Sirajul Islam, Officer-in-Charge of Magura Sadar Police Station (OC), told Banglanews, the man and his wife ended their lives by hanging themselves to death in their bed room around 10pm. They had apparently torn a sari to hang themselves.

The couple had married just three months ago. They were apparently unhappy as Sraboni’s parents did not accept their love marriage.  The matter might prompt them to end their lives but no suicide note was found from the spot, the OC added.

None of the family was present at the house during the time. Later sensing the incident, family members informed police. 

The bodies were sent to hospital morgue for autopsy. An unnatural death case was filed in Sadar police station.
