MYMENSINGH: Police arrested a hospital owner in Mymensingh town after a Garo girl escaped an attempted rape whom he interviewed to recruit as a nurse.
Mozibar Rahman Babul was nabbed in a drive carried out at the hospital Sunday (August 18) night.
Police said five Garo girls were called in to Padma General Hospital in Brahmapalli area of the town Sunday afternoon for interview.
At one stage, the hospital's manager Sohel Rana Alam took one of them to show off the operation theatre (OT) where she was attempted to rape.
She was rescued by the other girls.
At the night, she filed a case with Mymensingh Kotwali Model Police Station under Women and Children Repression Prevention Act.
The hospital owner attempted to mediate the matter and failed. Efforts are on to arrest the manager, Kotwali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mahmudul Hasan told Banglanews.
