CHUADANGA: Police arrested the prime accused after a class VI madrasa girl was reportedly gang-raped in Alamdanga upzila of Chuadanga Sunday (August 18).

The victim has been admitted to Chudanaga Sadar Hospital.

Her father accused Laltu, 35, Shariful Islam, 40 and Raju, 30 from the same village, in a rape case filed with Alamdanga Police Station.

Meanwhile, police arrested prime accused Laltu.

Police and locals said the victim's mother filed an attempted rape case after the accused tried to rape the girl one month ago.

The mother said she was frequently threatened by the accused that the girl will be raped if the case against them isn't withdrawn.

The victim's father said Laltu, Raju and Shariful picked up his daughter from the house after beating and tying up his wife and him, around 12:30am Sunday.

Laltu has been arrested. Efforts are on to arrest other accused, Alamdanga Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Asaduzzaman Munshi told Banglanews.
