DHAKA: Indian External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar will arrive on Monday (August 19) at the invitation of his Bangladeshi counterpart Dr AK Abdul Momen. 

He will be Dhaka from August 19-21.

During the three-day tour of S Jaishankar, the date of Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s upcoming Delhi tour will be finalized, said sources.

Earlier on July 28, Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen said that Jaishankar's tour to Dhaka would be a greeting visit. He has already been invited and also accepted the invitation. 

This will be the first visit of the Indian External Affairs Minister to Bangladesh after the BJP government comes to power in the second term.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh High Commissioner Syed Moazzem Ali had recently delivered an invitation letter to S Jaishankar’s office in Delhi. Jaiashankar accepted the invitation.
