DHAKA:  No trucks and covered vans except for the ones carrying goods and cattle will be allowed in ferries before and after three days of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha.

The decision was taken in a meeting, chaired by State Minister of Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, in the capital on Sunday (July 21) to ease the journey of home-goers.

All goods-laden ships and sand-laden bulkheads will remain shut at the waterways at night.

According to a release of the ministry of shipping, all bulkheads will remain shut during the day time before and after five days of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha.
