TANGAIL: Two siblings were washed away by flood water at Char Durgapur village in Kalihati upazila on Thursday (July 18) noon.

The deceased were identified as Lina, 12 and Tanzila, 10, daughters of Abu Sayed Miah of the village.

Locals said the two sisters were going to shop through road near their house which went under water. At one stage, the two sisters were washed away by a strong current of the flood water.

Later, their bodies were recovered by locals from nearby ditch.

Durgapur UP chairman Hazrat Ali Talukdar confirmed the matter to Banglanews.
