KURIGRAM:  Four children among five persons died and three other injured after their boat had capsized in Ulipur upazila of the district on Tuesday (July 16).

The boat capsized at Natun Anantopur village in Hatia union of the uapzila when they were about to see their distressed relatives.

Locals accompanied by divers of fire service recovered the bodies as rescue operation began right after the accident had happened and lasted till 6 pm.

The deceased were--as Rupamani (08), Hasibur (07), Sumon (08), Rukumini (7) and Runa Begum (32).

“The injured are undergoing treatment,” Dr. Fakhrul Alam, residential medical officer of Ulipur upazila Health Complex, told Banglanews.

“Dead bodies were recovered after four hours of frantic efforts,” Manjeel Haque, deputy assistant director of Kurigram Fire Service, told Banglanews.
