DHAKA: The Narsingdi college student, who was set on fire by her cousin on June 13, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Wednesday morning (June 26).
22-year-old victim Phulon Rani Barman breathed her last around 6 am after 13 days of battle for her life.
“Her body was kept at DMCH morgue,” outpost in-charge of the hospital Bacchu Miah, told Banglanews.
21% of her body burnt during the incident. She had breathing complication as they poured kerosene on face. She underwent an operation on Thursday, Zugenda Barman, father of the victim said.
Vabtosh Gosh poured kerosene on Phulon Rani Barman over a land dispute at Birpur of Narsingdi around 9 pm on June 13.
On June 20, Detective Branch (DB) of police detained a suspect named Raju Sutrador in connection with the incident. With information obtained from him, two cousins of the victim named as Vabtosh Gosh and Anando were arrested.
Phulon passed her HSC examination last year.
