SIRAJGANJ: A school student was killed under a truck when its helper was taking driving lesson in Ullapara upazila of Sirajganj.

The accident happened at Pagla Boalia Govermemnt Primary School playground of the upazila on Monday (June 24).

The victim was-- identified as Maruf Hossen, 9, son of Shahadat Hossen—a 3rd grade student of the aforementioned school and a resident of Boalia North Para village.

“On information, the truck was seized and the driver fled the spot,” Dewan Kowshiq Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Ullapara police station, told Banglanews.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Arifuzzaman and the mayor of the municipality Nazrul Islam visited the site.

Upazila administration gave Taka 20,000 and the mayor gave Taka 5000 donation to the victim’s family.
