CUMILLA: Two siblings drowned in ditch water in Laksam upazila of the district on Thursday (June 20).

The victims were-Abdullah Borhan, 5, and Abdullah Rayhan, 3, sons of Khatib Mufti Hafez Maulana Mazharul Islam-residents of Westgaon Soyasoyani of the upazila.

Locals spotted sandals in the ditch and began search there. They took the bodies out of the water, rushed to Upazila Health Complex, but doctors declared them dead.

The incident happened when father was at the mosque while the mother was praying at home.

The oldest son- (Md. Farhan uddin, 12) - of Maulana Mazharul Islam went missing around one month ago. Now, the couple is in shock to see dead bodies of the two sons.
