SAVAR (DHAKA): A pedestrian was run over by a bus on Dhaka-Aricha Highway in Savar, on the outskirts of the capital city Wednesday (June 19).

Deceased Ishtiak Hossain, 36 was son of one Torab Hossain in Digha village under Mohammadpur upazila of Magura district.

Police said a bus of Village Line Paribahan ran over Ishtiak at Salehpur Bridge in Aminbazar, at the noon.

He succumbed to injuries while was being taken to hospital by locals.

The body was sent to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy, said Savar Model Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Nazmul Hossain.

The bus was seized but its driver fled away, added the SI.
