CUMILLA: Two passengers of a CNG-powered auto rickshaw were killed and three others injured after being hit by a microbus in Chauddagram upazila of the district on Tuesday (June 18).

The accident happened at Zatrapur area on Dhaka-Chattogram highway around 12 pm.

The deceased were identified as Siraj Miah, 65, son of Afsar Uddin of Zatrapur village and Aiyub Ali, 40, son of Bacchu Miah.

The injured are undergoing treatment at Cumilla Medical College Hospital.

“Though microbus was seized, but the driver fled the spot,” Abdullah Al Mahfuz, officer-in-charge of Chauddagram police station, told Banglanews.
