DINAJPUR: Two motorcyclists were killed in a road accident at Kaugaon intersection in Sadar upazila early on Monday (May 27). 

The deceased were identified as Amiz Ali, 35, a resident of Bontara area in Dimajpur sadar and Abdus Samad, 60, son of Kitab Uddin of Amtoli area of Chirirbandar upazila. 

Bajlur Rashid, officer in charge of Kotwali police station, told Banglanews that businessmen Amiz Ali and Abdus Samad were heading towards litchi market at Dinajpur town after litchi shipped on a battery-run van. 

On way to market, a goods-laden truck hit the motorcycle at Kaugaon intersection at 5:30pm, leaving the duo dead on the spot. 

On information, police rushed in and sent the bodies to Dinajpur M Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. 

A case was filed in this connection.
