DHAKA: An eighth-month-old pregnant woman was killed after a truck hit her at Postogola Bridge in the capital on Monday (May 27).

Suma Akther, 40, was pronounced dead at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

Suma Akther, wife of expatriate (Kuwait) Asad Miah, was a resident of Zindapir area of Keraniganj.

According to deceased son Mohammad Sushmoy, a truck rammed into Suma Akther while she was crossing the road close to Postogola Bridge. They came to Dhaka to draw out money from a bank.

“Body was kept in the morgue,” DMCH police outpost in-charge Bacchu Miah told Banglanews.
