DHAKA: The government has elevated eleven acting secretaries to the rank of secretary in a promotion in the civil administration.

The Public Administration Ministry issued a notification in this regard on Sunday night (May 26).

The newly promoted Secretaries are Monowar Ahmed of Economic Relations Division, Siddiqa Khanam of Public Service Commission (PSC) secretariat, SM Arifur Rahman of Liberation War Affairs, Md. Maqsudur Rahman Patwari of Ministry of Land, Munshi Shahabuddin Ahmed of Technical and Madrasah Education Division, Abul Mansur Mohammad Fayzullah of implementation, monitoring and evaluation division, Abul Kashem as Director General of National Planning and Development Academy, Satyabrat Saha as Director General of Bangladesh Employee Welfare Board, Mizanur Rahman of Textile and Jute Ministry, Jyotirmoy Dutta as Chairman of Bangladesh Tariff Commission and Kazi Rowshan Akhter as Rector of the BCS Administration Academy.

After the promotion, the top public servants were first made officers on special duty (OSD) and then appointed to their previous posts by separate orders.
