HABIGANJ: A court here on Sunday (May 26) placed on five-day remand the mastermind of driver Mosharraf Hossain murder in Bahubal upazila. 

Habiganj Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) Inspector and investigation officer of the case Mohammad Faridul Islam sought 10-day remand for Shamim Fakir.

After hearing, Senior Judicial Magistrate Md Sultan Uddin Prodhan granted five days of remand.

Shamim was arrested from Hazaribagh area of Dhaka on May 21 on allegation of his involvement in the murder.

PBI later arrested another suspect Salahuddin Meer Milon from Brishal's Wazirpur the next day.

During his deposition under section 164 at the court, he confessed to killing driver Mosharraf Hossain, said the PBI inspector.
