BANDARBAN: A farm owner was reportedly trampled to death by a wild elephant in Headman Para area of Naikhyangchhari upazila of Bandarban early on Sunday (May 26).

The deceased was identified as Machcha U Marma, 52, a resident of Headman Para area in Sonaichhari union. 

Locals said he was going to work in the farmhouse in the morning as usual. In the meantime, a wild elephant attacked him near a beel beside of the headman para, leaving him dead on the spot. 

Panic is prevailing in the neighborhood. Locals traced the body in the morning and informed the police.

On information, police recovered the body and handed over to family members, Anwar Hossain, officer in charge of Naikhyangchhari police station, told Banglanews
