GAZIPUR: Two flyovers on Joydebpur-Chandra-Tangail-Elenga Highway in Konabari and Chandra areas of Gazipur were opened to vehicular movement Saturday (May 25).

With the above-mentioned two, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated three other development projects of Gazipur, through a videoconference from her state residence Ganabhaban. 

The three other projects are-- two bridges in Kodda and Baimail areas and an underpass in Kaliakair area on the same highway.

The flyovers have two lanes each.

1645 meter-long Konabari Flyover was constructed at a cost of 210.53 crore taka and the 288 meter-long Chandra Flyover at a cost of 45.21 crore taka.

Gazipur City Corporation (GCC) Mayor Md Jahangir Alam, Iqbal Hossain Sabuj MP, Zila Parishad Chairman Akhteruzzaman, Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP) Commissioner Md Anwar Hossain, Superintendent of Police (SP) Shamsunnahar, among others, attended the inaugural ceremony moderated by Gazipur Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr Dewan Muhammad Kabir at his office.
