DHAKA: Four people, including a housewife, sustained burn injuries by hot oil thrown to them in Keraniganj upazila following a family feud on Thursday (May 24) night. 

The injured were identified as Shanu Akhter, 20, her neighbors Arman, 20, Tuhin, 22 and Mehedi, 15, residents of Parhouse area.

Shanu’s father told Banglanews that his daughter got married to neighbor Oli five months ago. After one month, the couple locked into brawl and husband used to beat up Shanu. On Thursday, Shanu left the house and came to her father’s house after being tortured.

Later, she along three neighbors back home at night aiming to reach a mutual solution. At one stage, Oli’s sister threw hot oil on them, leaving Shanu and three others burn injured.

Being rescued by locals, the injured were sent to local hospital and then shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. 

The injured were admitted to the burn unit of the DMCH hospital, said Bachchu Mia, in-charge (inspector) of DMCH Police outpost.
