COX’S BAZAR: The state minister for Disaster Management and Relief Dr Md Enamur Rahman said locals will get similar aid where Rohingyas took shelter in Cox’s Bazar after fleeing ethnic cleansing in Myanmar.
The minister came up with the announcement in his speech as a chief guest on a workshop on dealing with disaster held at Madhurchara Rohingya camp in Ukhiya upazila on Thursday (May 23).
Dr Md Enamur Rahman said, “Rohingyas can not be shifted to Bhasan Char owing to the 52 conditions given by the international organization. But the government's efforts are underway.”
The workshop was organized, by Ramu-10 Infantry Division of Bangladesh Army, to combat any disaster like coming the monsoon season in Rohingya camp.
Principal Staff Officer of the Armed Forces Lieutenant General Mohammad Mahfuzur Rahman and secretary of Disaster Management and Relief Shah Kamal were present as special guests.
