Senior journalist Mahfuz Ullah no more

DHAKA: Imminent writer and senior journalist Mahfuz Ullah has passed away at Bumrungrad International Hospital in Bangkok.

He died at 3:20 pm (Thailand local time) on Sunday (April 21).

He was aged 69.

“Mahfuz Ullah’s elder daughter Angana informed me about it,” journalist leader Mohammad Abdullah told Banglanews.

Earlier on April 2, Mahfuz Ullah was admitted to Square Hospital in the capital with severe chest pain.

He underwent treatment at the coronary care unit (CCU) of the hospital.

He was born in Noakhali on March 10 of 1950. He earned a postgraduate degree in physics and journalism from University of Dhaka.

He authored as many as 50 books in Bangla and English.

He taught at Dhaka University and Daffodil University, working as a lecturer at the department of Mass Communication and Journalism.
