BAGERHAT:  Detectives in a drive have arrested the principal of a madrasa in Rampal upazila on charge of raping 10-years-old madrasa girl.

Oliar Rahman, principal of the madrasa, was arrested from Foyla area of the upazila on Friday (April 19). 
 
Earlier on Friday afternoon, police arrested a youth Ferdaus Sheikh, 18, a local grocer and son of Lutfor Sheikh of Sharifpur village in the upazila in this connection. 

Victim’s maternal uncle on Thursday (April 18) filed a case accusing four people on charge of raping his niece. After receiving the complaint, police arrested two of key accused –madrasa principal and grocery shop owner, said Lutfor Rahman, officer-in-charge of Rampal Police Station.

They will be placed before court and efforts on to arrest rests of the accused, the OC added.  

The victim’s medical test is scheduled to be conducted on Saturday. 

As per case statement, Sheikh lured the girl to a house and violated her on April 11.
