2 killed in Cox’s Bazar road crash

COX’S BAZAR: At least two people were killed and 11 others injured when a human hauler (locally called ‘magic gari’) crashed into a motorbike in Teknaf upazila on Friday (April 19).
 
The deceased were identified as Gura Miah, 45, resident of Jhimongkhali area of Teknaf and Md Ayach, 15, son of Abdul Haque, resident of Balukhali Rohingya camp.

The accident took place in the afternoon when a Cox’s Bazar -bound human hauler crashed into the Teknaf-bound bike, leaving 13 passengers of the two vehicles injured, said Prodip Kumar Das, officer-in-charge of Teknaf Police Station.
 
The injured were taken to International Organization for Migration (IOM)-run hospital in the upazila where doctors declared two of them dead.

The bodies were handed over to family members, the OC added.
