PM’s Brunei visit: 7 MoUs likely to be signed

DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will leave Dhaka for Brunei on a three-day visit to its capital Darussalam on April 21 at the invitation of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah.

During the visit of PM, Bangladesh is likely to sign seven Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) with Brunei said Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen at a press briefing at his ministry Thursday (April 18).

The MoUs include science and technology in agriculture, arts and culture, fuel and energy, industry, youth and sports, fisheries and livestock resources.

Dr Momen said during the visit to Brunei, the two countries will discuss issues related to energy, trade, investment, agriculture, food, air communications, human resources development, tourism and technical issues.

Rohingya crisis will also be discussed, the foreign minister added. 

The premier will return home on April 23 after wrapping up her Brunei tour.
