RAJSHAHI: Social media users couldn’t stop sharing images of ‘Banalata Express’ since Tuesday (April 9) as all eyes are now set for the train’s launching on Rajshahi-Dhaka route.
The newly assembled high-speed train will begin operation any day after April 20.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina finalized the name of the train assembled with Indonesian bogies.
A reliable source from Railway West Zone confirmed the matter to Banglanews Wednesday (April 10).
‘Banalata Express’ was earlier scheduled to open on the first day of Bangla New Year.
The launching was delayed due to lack of preparation.
The train will run six days a week. It will take four to four and a half hours for Dhaka-Rajshahi journey, Railway Additional Director General (Operation) Mia Jahan told reporters.
