Rohingya man shot dead by 'rival gang'

COX’S BAZAR: A Rohingya man was allegedly shot dead in a reported gunfight between two rival gangs of Rohingyas in Teknaf upazila on Tuesday (March 26) morning. 

The deceased was identified as Mohammad Abu Syed alias Sadek Dakat, Rohingya robber and son of Mohammad Jalil, a resident of 637 no shed of Block-H Noyapara camp. 

The incident took place at hilly area adjacent to Noyapara Rohingya camp around 6:00am, said Abdus Salam, sub inspector of Noyapara camp police outpost. 

Being informed, a team of police rushed in and recovered bullet-hit body of the Rohingya robber from the spot. 

Later, the body was sent to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
