KHAGRACHHARI: Parbatya Bengali Chhatra Parishad called off the dawn-to-dusk hartal in Khagrachhari for Wednesday (March 20).

The declared hartal was withdrawn considering public suffering, president of a section of the organization Lokman Hossen said on Wednesday (March 20).

The hartal was called for protesting the killing of 8 people in Baghaichhari upazila, murder of Awami League leader Suresh kanti Tanchanga in Belaichari upazila and removal of Basonti Chakma as a member of parliament. 

A press release signed by Acting Secretary General of district committee of Parbatya Bengali Chhatra Parishad Rabiul Hossain was issued on Tuesday (March 19).

The administration was given 24 hours of time to seize illegal weapons and arrest terrorists in joint drives, but no response yet. This is the reason behind the hartal, the release said.
