Noakhali man found dead in South Africa Pietermaritzburg city

NOAKHALI: Miscreants murdered a youth of Noakhali district at Ritip street area of Pietermaritzburg city of South Africa.

The deceased was identified as Md Zaker Hossen, 30, son of late Abdul Kaiyyum, from Kabirhat upazila of Noakhali. He was the fourth among the six siblings.

Police recovered decomposed body of Zaker, wrapped in a blanket, from his own shop at Ritip Street on Monday night (March 18).

According to family sources, Zaker went to South Africa in 2007 to earn livelihood. He last came home in 2017 and stayed for 6 months.

An Indian man would assist Zaker in his shop. No Bangalees live in his neighborhood. Since discovery of Zaker’s death, the Indian national has been missing, family sources also added.

Meanwhile, another Bangladeshi national named Jewel, 32, was injured from a gunshot by black miscreants at Lenesia area of Gauteng province of the country.

He is from Begumganj upazila of the district. He is now in critical condition.
