Drug dealer killed in city ‘gunfight’

DHAKA: A drug dealer was killed in a reported gunfight with police at Gendaria area under Jatrabari of city early Friday (February 22).

Two police officials were also wounded in the incident.

The gunfight took place around 2:15 am.

The deceased Hazrat Ali, 35, and his wife Rahima, who is now fleeing in India, are infamous drug dealers.

Hazrat had 40 cases filed with police stations, Kazi Wazed Ali, officer-in-charge of Jatrabari police station, told Banglanews.

11 pieces of yaba pills, unexploded cocktails, parts of exploded cocktails and a machete were seized from the spot.
