DMCH starts handing over bodies Relative receive bodies at DMCH

DHAKA:  Dhaka Medical College Hospital authorities have started handing over bodies of Chawkbazar fire incident victims to the respective families.

The transfer activity began after 2 pm on Thursday (February 21).

Relatives are facing hassle to receive bodies following identification process at DMCH.

A man who goes by the name of Babul has received body of his relative Kamal Hossain around 1 pm. “I gave all documents to the authorities they asked. They also told me that they would give me money,” Babul told Banglanews.

Out of the 70 bodies, 41 bodies have been identified. There are 37 men, 2 women and 2 children among the identified ones.

70 people were killed in Chawkbazar fire incident till reporting.

The fire broke out at a chemical warehouse in Chawkbazar area of Old Dhaka around 10:45 pm on Wednesday (February 20).
