This year’s Ijtema ends with Akheri Munajat Devotees at Biswa Ijtema

GAZIPUR:  The second phase of the 54th Biswa Ijtema, the second largest congregation of Muslims across the world, ended with Akheri Munajat (concluding prayers).

Delhi Mawlana Shamim conducted the Munajat seeking world peace, divine blessings and welfare of Muslim Ummah on the bank of Turag River in Tongi town under Gazipur district.

The Munajat began at 11:43 am and ran for 16 minutes on Tuesday (February 19).

The second phase Akheri Munajat was deferred to this day from February 18 due to inclement weather, begining the 2nd phase Ijtema on February 17.

Earlier, followers of Saad informed ministry that they had no preparation for the February 18 Munajat. Later, the date was deferred in consultation with seniors of Ijtema organizers, Gazipur Deputy Commissioner Dr. Deewan Muhammad Humayun Kabir told Banglanews.

Senior Islamic scholar of Kakrail mosque Hafez Mawlana Mohammad Zubaer conducted the 1st phase Munajat seeking world peace, divine blessings and welfare of the Muslim Ummah on Saturday morning (February 16).

With an extension of one day, the second largest congregation of Muslims after Hajj was arranged for four consecutive days from February 15-18.
