RMG worker shot dead in Ashulia Deceased Russel.

ASHULIA (DHAKA): Miscreants shot a 27-year-old readymade garment worker to death in Jamgora area of Ashulia in Savar at early hours of Saturday (Feb 16).

The deceased was identified as Russel Khan, hailed from Kutubpur village under Shibchar upazila of Madaripur district.

He worked at Manta Apparels in Shimul Tola area of Ashulia.

Russel’s friend Alamin, who also survived the same incident, told Banglanews that three persons snatched his mobile phone and Tk 450 at gunpoint, around 12am Thursday.

At the latter night, Alamin, Russel and seven of their friends were seated on the same spot to trace the muggers.

“Two persons opened fire on us from a distance. Russel was grounded while we managed to flee away,” said Alamin.

Russel was rescued and taken to Enam Medical College Hospital where the physician pronounced him dead.

Ashulia Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC, Investigation) Jabed Masud told Banglanews that the incident might has happened over mugging.

Details will be revealed through running investigation into the incident, he said.
