DHAKA: Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr. A K Abdul Momen requested United States for deportation of Rashed Chowdhury, convicted fugitive killer of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. 

He held a meeting with US Ambassador in Dhaka Earl Robert Miller at the foreign ministry on Thursday (Jan 31).

After the meeting, the minister told reporters that they discussed the issue of immediate extradition of convicted fugitive killer Rashed Chowdhury, who has been hiding there. 

Earlier, another Bangabandhu killer Mohiuddin Ahmed was brought back to home from USA. 

Asked about the reply of the US envoy, the minister said “Robert Miller says he will inform the matter to Washington.” 

Regarding bilateral issues, AK Abdul Momen said discussion was held on cooperation between the two countries in the field of economic and trade. 

“We will work with a target that a win-win situation creates for both countries”, he added.
