DHAKA:  UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Myanmar Yanghee Lee has set out on her official tour to visit Rohingya camps on the island of Bhashan Char on Thursday (January 24), according to UN Geneva office source.

Yanghee Lee wants to visit camps made by Bangladesh government for the displaced Rohingya refugees that crossed over to Bangladesh fleeing Myanmar military crackdown.

Bhashan Char Island is, under Noakhali district, on the Bay of Bengal.

Lee arrived in Bangladesh on January 19 for a seven-day visit.

Yanghee Lee has held meetings with Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen and other officials.

Lee is expected to hold a news conference on 25 January about the tour.
