DHAKA: Diplomats of different countries assured of continuing all types of support to the new government of Bangladesh in achieving peace, prosperity and development.
The assurance came after newly appointed Foreign Minister of Bangladesh Dr A K Abdul Monem briefed the diplomats at the State Guest House Padma in the capital on Thursday (January 17).
State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md. Shahriar Alam and Foreign Secretary Md. Shahidul Haque also briefed diplomats.
“The new foreign minister briefed all diplomats to Dhaka, informing us about his plans how he wants to represent Bangladesh in international communities,” Dean of Diplomatic Corps and Ambassador of Vatican to Bangladesh Archbishop George Kocherry told reporters emerging from the meeting.
“We promised our support and cooperation for the development of this country,” he also said.
Diplomats of 55 countries joined the briefing.
