AL leader’s throat-slit body found in Bogra

BOGRA: Police recovered the throat-slit body of an Awami League leader from paddy field at Mandirpukur village in Adamdighi upazila of Bogra on Saturday morning (Nov 17).

The deceased, identified as Nazrul Islam, 50, son of late Sakhinuddin of the village, was the AL publicity secretary of Chapapur union unit.

However, no one has been arrested yet over the incident. 

Quoting locals, police said Nazrul got out of home on Friday evening after receiving a phone call from someone and never came back. Locals discovered his body lying on a paddy field in Kanchanpur area. On information, police recovered the body. 

Adamdighi police station officer-in-charge (OC) Monirul Islam told Banglanews that the deceased was accused in two cases and was in prison. He was freed from jail on bail some two weeks ago.
