SIRAJGANJ: A teenage boy allegedly committed suicide after hearing that his same age lover committed suicide by taking poison in Tarash upazila of Sirajganj on Saturday (Nov 17).

The deceased were identified as Shahed Ali, 15, son of one Moinuddin of Raghunali village of the upazila and her lover Rubina Khatun, 15, daughter of one Abdur Rauf of Chak Joykrishnapur village. Both of them were ninth graders at Chak Joykrishnapur Dakhil Madrasa. 

Locals said Rubina consumed poison following a quarrel with her mother in the morning and died on way to Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College and Hospital around 10:00am. On the other hand, after receiving her death news, Shahed hanged himself at home.

Tarash police station officer-in-charge (OC) Mostafizur Rahman told Banglanews that the teenagers reportedly had romantic relationship. Police were sent to the spot to investigate the matter.
