JHENAIDAH: A district court on Wednesday (October 17) sentenced life term imprisonment to three people in a drug case.

Judge Md. Golam Azam of Jhenaidah additional district and sessions judge’s court-1 passed the order with Tk 10,000 fine for each convict.

The convicts are- Sujan, son of one Entaj Ali of Kushumpur village in Maheshpur upazila, Ikramul Shah alias Chentu, son of one Ayub Ali and Kesta Sarkar, son of one late Nimai Sarkar of Shwarupur area.

All the convicts are on the run. The court also acquitted another accused Hasan in the case.

According to case statement, police seized 82 bottles of phensedyl from a human hauler in Begumpur area of Maheshpur upazila on Sep 16 in 2013 and detain the trio. Later a case was filed under Narcotics Act.
