3 get life for Kushtia murder

KUSHTIA:  Three persons were sentenced to life in prison by a district court for killing a woman in Daulatpur upazila of the district in December of 2013.

Judge Arup Kumar Goswami Jonakirno of district and sessions judge’s court of Kushtia delivered the verdict in presence of convicts on Thursday (July 25).

The court also fined them Taka 10000 each. Otherwise, 1 year of imprisonment will be applicable.

The convicts were—Md. Hashem Sardar, 45, son of Nazar Ali, of Maishadanga village of Daulatpur upazila, Mofazzel Hossain alias Mufaz, 70, Akramul Haque alias Akem, 48, sons of Lashkar Malitha of Shitalipara village.

According to court sources, housemaid Rekha Khatun was found dead in a cropland on 17 December of 2013.

Rustam Ali, father of the deceased, filed a case against the convicts with Daulatpur police station.

Public Prosecutor (PP) of Kushtia Judge Court advocate Arup Kumar Nandi confirmed the matter to Banglanews.
