BOGURA:  A district court has awarded death penalty to five persons for killing a man in Gabtoli upazila of the district.  

On Thursday (April 18), Judge Naresh Chandra Sarkar of district and sessions judge’s court of Bogura also gave orders of punishment on various terms for other convicts in the case.

The judge also fined each convict Taka 20,000. 

The death-raw convicts are- Ismail Hossain, his son Mamun, Sirajul Islam, Md. Rahim and Zulfikar Ali Tutul-from the same village- Bahadurpur of the upazila.

Public prosecutor as well as advocate for the state Abdul Matin confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

It was learned that Yasin Molla, of Bahadurpur village, was murdered by the convicts owing to previous enmity after taking him out of his home in June of 2006.

Later, Anwara Begum, wife of the deceased, filed a case on charge of a murder with Gabtoli Model Police Station.
