DHAKA:   Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda underscored the need for holding Dhaka City Corporation elections in a fair manner like the 11th national election held on December 30, 2018.

KM Nurul Huda came up with the expectation at Election Training Institute (ETI) in city’s Agargaon on Tuesday (February 5).

Addressing executive magistrates, CEC said, “We want Dhaka City Corporation election to be fair under your management like national parliamentary election. I thank you all for the hard work, skills you have shown to gift a fair national election to the nation.”

KM Nurul Huda said, “The Code of Conduct of city corporation election will be sent to you. 30 rules require your utmost care and attention among 33.  If you can observe how these rules are complied, then much of your duty is done.”

“Your duty is to see how they obey code of conduct, not who wins the elections. Elected representatives are those who are voted by folks,” CEC added.
