In an outbreak of the coronavirus, the death toll worldwide reached 3,600 on Sunday (March 8) as 29 more died in the 24 hours. Some 162 new cases of infection were confirmed, bringing the total to 106,211. Of them 60,213 were recovered.

China reported 45 new cases another 27 deaths were reported in mainland China, where the epidemic has been concentrated.

The updates bring mainland China's totals to 80,696 cases and 3,097 deaths in the 24 hours.

South Korea reported 93 new cases of infection, bringing its total to 7,134. It also confirmed 50 deaths so far as two more died in last 24 hours. 

In last 24 hours, the USA reported nine new cases of infection while Australia and Costa Rica four each, India five, Vietnam and Mexico confirmed one each.
