Closure of educational institutions extended till Aug 6

DHAKA: The government has decided to extend the closure of all the educational institutions of the country until August 6 considering the safety of the students amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Mohammad Abul Khayer, public relations officer of the Education Ministry confirmed the matter.

A circular in this regard will be issued soon, he added. 

On March 16, the government closed all educational institutions to prevent the spread of coronavirus. No classes have been held since that day.

The country has reported 38 more deaths from coronavirus (Covid-19) infection in the last 24 hours, raising the death toll to 1,209, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Monday (June 15). 

Besides, 3,099 people tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours raising the total number of coronavirus cases in the country to 90,619.
