Specially-abled children to get mainstream education: Dipu Moni Dr Dipu Moni speaking at the function

RAJSHAHI: Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni said children with special needs need to be evaluated separately in order to merge them with mainstream education.

We have to evaluate their exam scripts separately, she said while addressing the inaugural session of a day-long divisional seminar Shaheed AHM Kamaruzzaman Zila Parishad (ZP) auditorium in Rajshahi on Sunday (December 1).

Dr Dipu Moni said: “We (teachers) must be enlightened first. Many teachers cannot accept autistics naturally. We will provide training to all the teachers in phases. The Ministry of Education has already trained about thirty thousand teachers on autism.”

Dr Dipu Moni was speaking at a seminar titled “National Academy for Autism and

Neurodevelopmental Disability (NAAD).”

Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) under the Ministry of Education organized the seminar.

More than 400 teachers and students from various schools of children with special needs took part in the seminar.
