DHAKA UNIVERSITY (DU): A fire broke out at the central library of Dhaka University (DU) here Sunday (July 7).

More than one unit of firefighters is working on the spot to douse the blaze.

The fire originated from electric cable at the library's Rare section, after 10:30am.

"Smoke engulfed most the UN and USA corner. Firefighters are working carefully as the section has rare collection of books," library official Zafar Ahmed told Banglanews.

Students, who were inside, managed to come out safely.
