DHAKA: Senior UGC member Professor Mohammad Yousuf Ali Mollah was made acting chairman of University Grants Commission (UGC) as the tenure of its chairman Professor Abdul Mannan is expired.

UGC Public Relations and Right of Information Department Director Dr. Shamsul Arefin told Banglanews that on May 7, Yusuf Ali Mollah took charge of UGC as per directives of the education ministry. 

Professor Abdul Mannan’s tenure also has expired on the day. 

He will discharge routine works of the chairman of Department of Chemistry of Dhaka University Professor Yusuf Ali Mollah joined UGC as its full time member on May 28, 2015.
