Tk 26 lakh looted from Export-Import Company in city

Dhaka: Terrorists looted Tk 26 lakh from an export-import company in the city’s Moghbazar area Wednesday night injuring its night guard.


Police, however, rescued injured guard Hekmat Ali, 55, from the spot and sent him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).


Quoting Hekmat, Ramna thana police said local terrorists, led by Monir, Suman and Abu Bakr, first gathered in front of 15 Tongi Diversion Road near Moghbazar Rail Gate at about 9:30pm and severely beat up Hekmat.

Later, they swooped on Adarsha Bismillah Company, ransacked the furniture, looted Tk 26 lakh from the vault and left the place without any hindrance.


Director of the company Yousuf Hossain filed a case with Ramna Police Station in this regard.


Police could not make any arrest in this regard till filing of this report at about 3am.
