DHAKA: Nobel laureate Dr. Mohammad Yunus Monday called upon all established business houses of the country to invest in social business, the latest innovation in economics he is promoting after his trailblazing work in micro-finance.

Dr. Yunus made the call while speaking as chief guest at a function organized in observance of the ‘Social Business Day’ in the country for the first time at Sonargaon hotel.

Founder of the Grameen Bank, Dr. Yunus said, “Socioeconomic development of the country is possible through social business and the government should come in aid of fixing the strategy for the new pattern of business.”

Among others, Executive officer of BASF-Grameen Sharia Sadik and Executive Director of Grameen-Danon Foods Corinne Bazina spoke at the function.
